Old 121 Brewhouse Scale Up

Challenge Details:

As voted on by the Club, the December 2022 Quarterly Challenge will be the Old 121 Scale-up-Stout! The winner will have the opportunity to scale up their recipe and brew it on the 3 BBL system at Old 121 Brewhouse with the new owners and co-founders of the Club, Sam and Katie Nicholson! The timing couldn't be any better, as February is Stout Month!

Enter by completing the form below.

Drop off 2 samples of your stout at Old 121 Brewhouse by Sunday, December 11th (regular 12 oz bottles preferred, but any suitable vessel accepted!).

Any stout can be entered into the competition for judging. If you would like your recipe to be selected for the scale up, there are a few caveats:

1. No lactose

2. No bourbon (or similar spirit) barrel aging (but regular oak spirals/cubes/chips are OK)

3. Old 121 has the final approval of the recipe to be brewed

Winners of the competition will be announced and beverages will be available to sample at the December Club Meeting on Saturday, December 17 at 10am.
